Pada suatu sore yang cerah, seorang cendekiawan ingin menikmati
pemandangan laut dengan menyewa sebuah perahu nelayan dari tepi pantai.
Setelah harga sewa perjam disepakati, keduanya melaut tidak jauh dari
bibir pantai.
Melihat nelayan terus bekerja keras mendayung perahu tanpa banyak bicara, sang cendekiawan bertanya: "apa bapak pernah belajar ilmu fisika tentang energi angin dan matahari?"
"Tidak", jawab nelayan itu singkat.
Cendekiawan melanjutkan, "Ah, jika demikian bapak telah kehilangan seperempat peluang kehidupan bapak".
Nelayan cuma menganggung-angguk membisu.
"Apa bapak pernah belajar sejarah filsafat?" tanya cendikiawan.
"Belum pernah", jawab nelayan itu singkat sambil menggeleng-gelengkan kepalanya.
Cendikiawan melanjutkan, "Ah, jika demikian bapak telah kehilangan seperempat lagi peluang kehidupan bapak".
Sinelayan kembali cuma mengangguk-angguk membisu.
"Apa bapak pernah belajar dan berkomunikasi dengan bahasa asing?" tanya cendikiawan.
"Tidak bisa", jawab nelayan itu singkat.
"Aduh, jika demikian bapak total telah kehilangan tiga perempat peluang kehidupan bapak".
Tiba-tiba angin kencang bertiup keras dari tengah laut. Perahu yang mereka tumpangi pun oleng hampir terguling. Dengan tenang nelayan bertanya kepada cendekiawan.
"Apa bapak pernah belajar berenang?"
Dengan suara gemetar dan muka pucat ketakutan cendekiawan itu menjawab, "Tidak pernah".
Nelayan pun memberi komentar dengan percaya diri, "Ah, jika demikian bapak telah kehilangan semua peluang hidup bapak"..............
Nah, pelajaran yang bisa dipetik dari kisah diatas antara lain"
* Jangan meninggikan diri lebih hebat dari orang lain.
* Jangan sombong, sebab akan direndahkan Tuhan.
* Kita semua memiliki keterbatasan dan memerlukan orang lain.
* Lebih baik kita menjadi pribadi-pribadi yang kaya ilmu tetapi rendah hati atau istilah kerenya jadi orang yang low profile dan jadi orang yang kaya tetapi dermawan.
Sepertinya itulah yang lebih baik kita lakukan,
bukan begitu para sahabat? ^_^

On a sunny afternoon, a scholar wants to enjoy a view of the sea by renting a fishing boat from the beach. After rents agreed, both traveling perjam not far from shore.
See fisherman plod rowing boat without much talk, the scholar asks: "what does the father never learn about the physics of the Sun and wind energy?"
"No", replied the fisherman was brief.
Scholars continued, "Ah, in that case the father has lost a quarter of a father's life chances".
Menganggung-fishing just a nod away silently.
"What Mr. studied history of philosophy?" asked pundit.
"Never before", replied the fisherman it short while their shakes his head.
Pundit continued, "Ah, in that case the father has lost a quarter of life opportunities again father".
Sinelayan back just nodding away silently.
"What Mr. never learn and communicate with foreign languages?" asked pundit.
"Can't", replied the fisherman was brief.
"Ouch, if so Mr. total had lost three quarters of the father's life chances".
A sudden strong winds blowing hard from the middle of the sea. Their boat nearly capsizes also tumbled there. With quiet fishermen asked the scholars.
"What the father never learned to swim?"
With trembling voice and face pale fear that scholars answered, "never".
Fishermen also give comments with confidence, "Ah, in that case the father has lost all chance of living father" ... ... ... ... ... ... ....
Well, the lesson to be learned from the story above, among others, "
* Do not exalt themselves better than others.
* Do not be arrogant, debased the Lord would.
* We all have limitations and needs of others.
* Better we become personally-rich science but humble or term kerenya so people are low profile and so people are wealthy but generous.
It looks like that's exactly what we're doing better, it's not that the companions? ^_^
